School News Today Podcast of How to Make The Metaverse Safe For Cats

School News Today announced that it is launching a new podcast, available on Youtube and via podcast networks, featuring a young Cat Reporter.

While the Association of Imaginary Schools already hosts a Friday Office Poetry Podcast narrated by a human being, the Marketing Director felt it was time to branch out and let other species’ voices be heard.

Cats were not the first choice. Marketing was hoping to find a female human on the staff to host the new podcast as part of a DEI push at the Association of Imaginary Schools. In the pitch letter hoping to recruit a female host, the Marketing Director noted that male podcasters outnumber women among top podcasts, and top Youtube creators are still disproportionately male.

The pitch was not successful.

After the depressing presentation about sexism on Youtube, none of the females on our staff at The Association of Imaginary Schools wanted to step forward and host the School News Today podcast.

“What’s the point with the numbers stacked against us? I’m tired of being set up to fail. Plus I hate being trolled by ugly unsmiling men in the comments who want me to show my breasts and smile. How is it my job to integrate this boys club?” commented an early candidate.

The idea to bring in a feline host was met with skepticism at first, and it proved hard to control the animal correspondent. However, with the introduction of some mercury-free tuna (regular tuna is toxic for cats), the new reporter is doing well.

While some objected that the Cat Reporter’s voice was “shrill,” “grating,” and “not authoritative,” we at School News Today found that you can get used to it if you lie in the sun and lick your paws until you fall asleep.
