Rogue graduate students in the Psychology Department have released another Educational Cat Video. This video deals with date safety, ostensibly for party cats.
The video appeared as Fred’s University is grappling with the fallout from multiple incidents of sexual assault at school dance parties.
Students noticed that all of the university messaging about these events focused on teaching victims to protect themselves and no effort was made to address potential perpetrators.
This bias fits with the model in which women get blamed for sexual harassment because the burden is on them to prevent it. (Also see How Not To Harass Your Students for further help).
Following the success of their rogue Association of Imaginary Schools video, Boundaries Explained to Boundary Violators, graduate students have made what they call an “explainer video for perps.”
Since trolls have posted to the video that they expected more tips on how to “score,” comments have been closed on the video.
Linguistics students pointed out that the word “score” is antiquated and there is every reason to think aged faculty are the trolls in question.
No cats were harmed in the making of the video.
