Almost as a celebratory act of the last week of winter, on Tuesday March 14, 2017, the first proclaimed blizzard of the year began to take action. Although it was not the promised approximation of 18 inches, the warning alone had all schools in Sayreville and other districts close down for that Tuesday.
Snow fell, reaching about 3-5 inches, depending on the area. Unexpectedly, it had also rained later in the day. Despite the common hatred towards sleet, it proved its worth when it guaranteed yet another day off on Wednesday March 15, 2017. On top of that, the blizzard decided to return for another round at around 3:30 p.m with on and off snowing.
Many students will have been preparing for their delayed tests and quizzes, or perhaps may not even be studying at all. Either way, here at Echo Lites we hope that the SWMHS staff and students enjoyed their days off!
